One of Fitwize 4 Kids’ missions is to engage and encourage children to give back to our community, all while learning how to serve. Monthly service projects are available for After School Program students to actively participate in, and are centered around specific monthly themes. In addition to our monthly service projects, Fitwize has designed programs in which we offer annual programs; which include:
- American Childhood Cancer Organization / St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital — Collecting through September 26
- Loudoun County Animal Shelter — Collecting through October 31
- Loudoun Hunger Relief’s Thanksgiving Drive — Collecting through November 10
- Toys 4 Tots — Collecting November 10-December 8
- SMART Goals — January: students develop personal goals for the end of January, end of school year and end of summer
- Love Thy Neighbor: Celebrating Our Differences — February: Collecting wrapped candy, snacks & candy to create kindness bags
- Stress Awareness Month: Coping with Stress — March: Students will learn coping techniques (yoga, meditation, journaling, etc)
- Earth Month: Our Planet, Our Power — April: Collecting empty toilet paper & paper towel rolls, empty & clean plastic bottles, shoeboxes. We will have several hands-on activites using recyclable items for planting seeds, constructing bird feeders, etc.
- Wounded Warrior Project — May: Collecting gift cards through May 31 (any type, any amount) to be donated to Wounded Warrior Project. Students will also write thank you letters to our military and will be distributed by Operation Gratitude.
We are continually looking for new opportunities to assist our communities’ needs, if you have suggestions, let us know.
