Junior Counselor Program

Teenagers, aged 13 and older, are afforded the opportunity to acquire valuable camp-related experiences under the direct supervision of Fitwize Management. Participants will engage with campers, facilitate activities and support Head Counselors in the daily execution of the summer camp program. Junior Counselors are expected to serve as exemplary role models for all campers. This program enables teenagers to dedicate their time in a service-oriented capacity, while simultaneously gaining resume-worthy experience within our day camp setting.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 13 years of age.
  • Must be available Monday through Friday, 8:45am to 4:00pm.
  • Mandatory attendance at a training session is required (scheduled for early June).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a role-model for all campers.
  • Assist senior counselors in ensuring continuous supervision of campers and maintaining a safe and enjoyable camp environment.
  • Provide support in the delivery of daily structured activities.
  • Maintain inventory of camp supplies and communicate any needs to the Operations Manager.
  • Conduct periodic head-counts of participants throughout the day.
  • Adhere strictly to all protocols and procedures established by the Program Coordinator.
  • Execute daily set-up and clean-up of the designated camp area.
  • Punctual arrival by 8:45am each day is expected, with departure at 4pm, unless prior arrangements have been established.
